CSI Theatre Camp

Theatre Camp: July 7 - 11, 2014
Ages: 10 - 18
Hey, kids, want to go to the one summer camp where you'll learn how to use stage makeup to give yourself (or somebody else) bruises, gashes, and old man wrinkles? Do you want to learn how to swing a sword, take a fake punch, and fall without getting hurt? How about spending your mornings building and decorating an entire room while learning how to speak like an Englishman or a Southern Belle in the afternoon? All of this and more is available in the week-long adventure that is CSI Theatre Camp!

CSI Junior Theatre Camp: June 30 - July 2, 2014
Ages: 6 - 9
This two-day afternoon camp, a companion to the regular CSI Theatre Camp, is designed to introduce younger students to the world of theatre. No experience required!

Jazz Camp: July 7 - 11, 2014
Ages: 13 and up
The CSI Jazz camp is an opportunity for students and lovers of jazz age 13 and up to experience the art of making jazz music with world class musicians!

Dance Camp

Dance Camp: July 20 - August 1, 2014
Ages: 12 and up
CSI/IDAA Summer Dance Camp, held on the beautiful College of Southern Idaho campus, is for intermediate- to advanced-level dancers who are twelve or older and who want a challenging and rewarding summer camp experience in dance.

Just Dance for Juniors!: July 26, 2014
Ages: 9 - 11
This special day camp is designed to introduce younger students (ages 9 through 11) to the concept of an intensive workshop.  No dancing experienced required!  The camp features the same instructors as the regular camp -a guest faculty from around the United States, bringing a wealth of talent and knowledge to assure each student achieves their highest potential.

Each summer, Idaho Writing Camps offer children and youth in grades 3 – 9 the opportunity to explore and engage in creative writing adventures - and to become published authors!

Community Education Summer Camps

Lego Robotics Camp - Full

Lego Robotics Camp: June 18 - 20
Grades 4 - 9
Work in teams to design, build, and program a LEGO Mindstorms NXT© robot. LEGO Robotics camp is open all boys and girls (ages 9 - 15) interested in applying science, technology, engineering, and math while learning real-world problem solving skills and gracious sportsmanship from the valley's own award winning TEAM Tesla Robotics club. Enrollment is limited to ensure a high quality experience. Time: 12:30pm to 4:30pm. Cost: $100 (includes camp gear).

Camp Create

Monday - Friday, June 23 - 27. 10 AM to 2 PM
Ages 5 - 8

Camp Create participants will flex their imagination through visual arts, create movement, and exciting stories. In this Jr. Art Camp, Karen Fothergill will introduce a variety of artistic mediums and techniques in a fun-paced, high-energy environment perfect for younger students. Students will need to bring their own sack lunch. Smocks are encouraged. Cost: $75 (includes supplies and camp gear).

Camp Masterpiece - Full

Monday - Friday, June 23 - 27. 10 AM to 2 PM
Grades 3 - 7

Camp Masterpiece (ages 9 - 14) participants will experiment with a variety of artistic mediums and techniques including drawing, painting, and sculpture. Both camps conclude with a special end-of-camp project. Students will need to bring their own sack lunch. Cost: $75 (includes camp gear and supplies).

Kid's Kitchen Academy - Full

Kid's Kitchen Academy: July 14 - 17
Grades 4 - 8
Break into the culinary scene while whipping up a healthy batch of fun. Campers will learn a variety of cooking techniques, menu planning, and kitchen safety while experimenting with appetizing ingredients. Kitchen Academy will reinforce basic life skills, introduce good nutrition, social etiquette, and incorporate math and science in a unique environment. Time: 2pm to 5pm. Cost: $75 (includes camp gear, supplies, recipe cards, and take-home leftovers).

Minecraft© Camp - Full

Minecraft© Camp: August 12 - 14
Grades 4 - 9
Join in the first-ever, interactive Minecraft© camp experience CSI has ever offered. Participants will explore, build, and create amazing worlds, solve problems, and complete quests while collaborating with other players and gaming counselors. Time: 10am to 4pm. Cost: $90 (includes camp gear, lunch and snacks).

Youth Summer Classes

Fun with Art & Nature - Over

Jun 9 - 11, 2014. M/T/W from 1 to 3pm
Ages: 7 - 11
In this class children will go on nature walks collecting items for a series of arts and crafts projects. Children will get to share stories, learn a little about plant identification, paint rocks, participate in a grass weaving project, and create a nature journal. Class is limited to the first 8 registrations.

Pizza!!! - Over

Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 10am - 1pm
Ages: 8 - 14
There is a reason pizza is so popular - because it is so yummy! Learn how to make delicious, nutrition pizza from scratch in this hands-on cooking adventure. Learn how to mix and roll out the dough, choose tasty toppings, and then bake your pizza to perfection. A parent will be invited for a special lunch to taste your creation.

Swordsmanship & Renaissance Martial Arts - Over

Tuesday/Thursday, June 10 - 24, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:30pm
Ages: 7 - 12
Renaissance Swordsmanship and Self Defense class will give the participants a taste of the martial arts of ancient Europe. Students will learn about ancient masters of Europe's martial arts, and how to perform their strikingly effective techniques. There will be a break the week of July 4th. For our course finale we will have a test-cutting event and barbecue.

Fun with Art and Music

In this class children will get to participate in an exciting series of classes using multiple art mediums, including water color, chalk pastels, and acrylic paints. We will be using Jazz, Bluegrass, and Country music as inspiration for our art work. Class is limited to the first 10 registrations.

Sock Puppets on Parade

M/T/W, July 7 - 9, 2014 from 1 to 3pm
Participants will design and make 2 Sock puppets, then have the chance to put on their own original puppet shows. On the second day of the class, we will read a couple of fairy tales, and then create a story of their own, with partners from the group. Each group will get to share their show with each other! Class is limited to the first 10 registrations.

Knitting for Kids

M - F, July 7 - 19, 2014 from 10am - noon
Students will fine tune motor and math skills while learning the basics of knitting: casting on, binding off, and knit and purl stitches. Over the course, students will create small projects that will help them learn how to knit hats, scarves, simple toys, and more. The class will even have the opportunity to dye yarn and make their own knitting needles.

Guitar for Kids

Monday, July 14 - August 18, 2014 from 6 - 6:45pm
Calling future rock stars! This class is designed for young musicians with little to no experience. Students will learn the basic skills necessary to get started including proper positioning, tuning, finger-picking and strumming with a pick, keeping time, and playing & unde rstanding simple chords. You'll use these skills to learn a couple of songs.
