Finally Home!® is an education program offered by the Idaho Partners for Home Buyer Education, Inc. designed to assist first-time home buyers in achieving homeownership. The program covers all the steps involved in making that big investment, from qualifying for a mortgage and choosing a Realtor®, to making an offer and closing costs.

The Class

Finally Home!® will take you through the home buying process step-by-step from deciding whether home ownership is right for you to finding the home that meets your needs. The College of Southern Idaho Community Education Center is a regional training partner and is a HUD-approved housing counseling agency.

After completing the program, you will be more knowledgeable about home buying and better able to negotiate the purchase price and financing of your future home.

The Teachers

Finally Home!® courses are taught by local housing professionals. The classes are held in two evening classes and students need to attend both nights to receive the certificate.

The Incentives

Students may qualify for incentives when they have successfully completed the Finally Home!®courses. Discuss these options with your mortgage lender.

• Down payment and closing cost assistance
• Programs that accept higher debt ratios
• Lower mortgage insurance premiums
• Using “gifted funds” at closing

The Curriculum

Finally Home!® will cover everything from whether you can afford home ownership to information about mortgages, closing costs, budgets and home maintenance. It will also address issues such as:

• Understanding how much cash is needed on hand for closing
• How to choose a Realtor®
• Credit and budgeting concerns
• Ongoing responsibilities of homeownership

The cost to register is only $20 per person and each student that finishes the 8 hour course will receive a certificate of completion. Register online or by calling (208) 732-6442.
