CSI Community Education offers a variety of school-age classes that provide youth a safe and comfortable environment during the summer months.
Fun and flexible for grades K-12, College for Kids classes are specifically designed to accommodate a wide range of interests for children and youth in Twin Falls and the surrounding area.
Dates, days, and times of classes vary with the first class choices starting in June and numerous class choices offered throughout the summer months.
Handbell Ringing for Youth – Grades – 7 – 12
Ringing handbells is a satisfying and rewarding way to perform music in a group and performing in a handbell choir has been compared to playing in a symphony, where each ringer is part of a greater whole sound responding to the music, the other ringers, and the director. Learning to play requires simple note reading including reading a staff and note values. Although music reading is not a pre-requisite for the class, a desire to learn to read a music score is essential, and students who are able to read music will be given the opportunity to play the more challenging bells. Become part of a unique group and discover the art of Handbell Ringing.

Reiki for Kids – Grades K – 2
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It’s based on the idea that “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Children will learn to understand the basics of energy and how it applies to their everyday lives. Using lots of hands on exercises the children will learn how breathing can calm and center them, a useful tool when they feel stressed, out of sorts, or are dealing with difficult situations. They will also learn how to feel the earth’s energy and their own basic energy centers (Chakras), allowing them to get a very basic understanding of Reiki. There will be lots of time for the children to experiment with the exercises.
