About the Program
Calling all little chefs! Kitchen Academy is a Montessori-inspired cooking academy for kids’ ages 9 to 12 years of age. We are focused on providing a safe, inspiring, and empowering space for children to learn culinary skills such as kitchen safety, knife skills, proper food handling, food preparation, etiquette manners, table settings, food presentation and of course, math and fun.
Instructor Introduction
Dianne is Professor of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts at the College of Southern Idaho. Ms. Jolovich has been teaching at the college for 15 years. Dianne is also the advisor for Collegiate DECA and Skills USA and the Walt Disney College Intern Program Coordinator. Dianne received the 2009-2010 Professional-Technical Educator of the Year at CSI and the CTEI Outstanding Post-Secondary Teacher of the Year for Idaho in 2017. Dianne worked in the Hospitality Industry for over 30 years and enjoys teaching and working with the students in the very exciting field of hospitality. Dianne is the Director for the Community Education Kitchen Academy and loves working with the junior chefs. Due to COVID-19 this past year learning new ways to teach via ZOOM has been a great opportunity to reach out to new learners. Ms. Jolovich has also taught Canning and Food Storing Classes, Pressure Cooking, and new this year- Adult Date Night Zoom Cooking Classes. Dianne has a passion for teaching, learning and cooking.
